Patagonia – El Bolson & Surrounding Area

El Bolson is located in the Patagonian province of Rio Negro, 130 kms south of Bariloche. The region around El Bolson is famous for its fly fishing as well as rafting and hiking due to its proximity to many beautiful lakes, rivers and mountains. El Bolson has a surprisingly mild climate given its southern location due to a series of valleys through the mountains of Chile to the Pacific Ocean giving it a very mediterranean feel. The summer months of Nov-Mar average in the early to mid 20’s, a very pleasant temperature to enjoy our wilderness hikes or some fun on the water. The winter does get cold with plenty of snow, so it’s best to wrap up warm, especially if you’re going to be heading out on one of our winter nordic skiing hikes.
